A Custard Eggnog Drink To Ring In The New Year!

Custard Eggnog:

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1\4 cup organic sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-2 tbsp. maple syrup or raw honey
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • pinch of salt

Directions:

Mix 3 beaten farm fresh eggs, 1/4 cup organic sugar, pinch of salt and¬†2 1/2 cups whole milk. Cook over low heat, whisking constantly until mixture just coats a spoon. Patience is required…it takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp. of vanilla. Refrigerate for at least 2 hrs.

Just before serving, beat 1 cup of organic whipping cream, 1 to 2 tbsp. maple syrup or raw honey, 1/8 tsp. nutmeg and 1 tsp. vanilla until stiff peaks form.  Gently fold whipped cream into the chilled custard. Serve in a punch bowl.

Makes 10 1/2 cup portions or add to coffee, chai tea or Dandy Blend herbal drink. Enjoy!
